More trends for the new year! Last week we told you about some new trends in graphic design you'll be seeing this year. Click here if you missed it. This week we're getting a little more specific with some trending color palettes for 2023.
Gradients have always had their place in the graphic design world. But this year they're coming in hot! We're seeing splashes of bright and vibrant colors being used in a dramatic fade to white. It's a very "look at me" vibe to get you noticed.
For your more sophisticated and chic palettes, jewel tones are trending this year. This means forest green, rich burgundy, vibrant gold, deep teal...think gemstones. These colors send a message of luxury and elegance.
While it seems like all the bright, loud color trends of this year would squash the pastel trend, the soft and soothing palettes have held strong. The more recent version of this trend is the fun and playful candy colors, which we're seeing more in the digital world than anywhere else.
Warm Earth Tones
Earth tones have been around for a while as our attention to the environment has grown. But now we're moving into a warmer palette with some softer and more neutral tones. The new muted colors have a calming effect that contrasts the high-energy palettes of this year.
Introducing Pantone's Color of the Year...Viva Magenta!!! Honestly we couldn't think of a better color to represent the year. It's bold, brave and optimistic for the future. This is a color that has been through some tough times and stayed resilient with its limitless expression.
